Luna B Organics was born from love, resilience, and a mother's promise.

On December 12, 2023, my daughter, Luna, arrived unexpectedly at just 27 weeks. She spent the next 68 days in the NICU through the holidays, through the new year, and through the longest winter of my life.

She was small. She was fragile. And she was fighting.

As a first-time mother, watching her through the glass of an incubator was the deepest, most powerful kind of love I had ever known.

But she wasn't only fighting because she was born too soon. Luna also struggled with severe eczema and painful diaper rash that nothing seemed to soothe. The petroleum-based products available at the hospital weren't giving her the comfort I had hoped for, and watching my daughter cry from the irritation of her own skin was heartbreaking.

I knew there had to be another way.

A Tradition Passed Down

Growing up in the Dominican Republic, I was surrounded by a family deeply connected to the land. My mother's family has been farming for generations. Although my grandparents are now retired, my uncles and aunts continue that tradition today, caring for the land with the same dedication they always have.

Being raised around that way of life taught me to value simple ingredients, hard work, and the wisdom that is passed from one generation to the next.

After Luna was born, I called my grandmother and shared everything we were going through. During that conversation, she reminded me of something I had never forgotten.

She told me that when she was young, they didn't just cook with tallow they also used it to care for their skin. She smiled as she remembered making jabón de cuaba, the traditional handmade soap many Dominican families grew up with, using the simple ingredients they had available. To her, it wasn't a trend or a luxury. It was simply how their family cared for themselves.

That conversation became more than a memory. It became a bridge between my family's traditions and my own journey as a mother.

During those quiet hours beside Luna's incubator, I began researching grass-fed tallow. I learned how closely it resembles the skin's natural oils, how naturally rich it is in vitamins A, D, E, and K, and why it has been used in traditional skincare for generations.

After speaking with Luna's doctor and nurses, they told me I could bring it with me and gently apply it to Luna's skin.

I will never forget that moment.

Over the following days, I noticed her skin beginning to look calmer. The redness gradually faded, and she seemed more comfortable. As her mother, watching those changes gave me hope during one of the hardest seasons of my life.

That experience didn't just change the way I cared for Luna it changed the course of my life.

It became the beginning of Luna B Organics.

Coming Home

On February 17, 2024, after 68 unforgettable days, Luna graduated from the NICU.

She came home. She was still so small and healthy, but she was finally where she belonged with us.

And the quiet, beautiful work of becoming her mother truly began.

Born from Necessity. Made with Intention.

When Luna finally came home, I couldn't imagine going back to products that hadn't worked for our family. I began making our own first in my kitchen, one small batch at a time with grass-fed tallow and carefully chosen ingredients.

What began as one balm for one little girl slowly became something much bigger.

Friends asked.

Family asked.

Then neighbors.

Every time I shared a jar, someone came back asking for another.

Luna B Organics is named after my daughter my little miracle, my greatest blessing, and the inspiration behind every product, every batch, and every ingredient we choose.
